Geez! There is a reason Kobe is the #1 player in the NBA!

For those that don't know I am a ball fan! Last night when I should have been asleep so I could get up for my radio show (Worldwide Wake Up Show on CIUT 89.5fm 5:30-8am), I was watching the Golden State/Lakers game! All I gotta say is watch the #1 play of the night. Lebron did some damage as well last night, but Kobe Bryant - DAAAAMNN!

DJs vs. The Industry vs. Other DJs

Diddy sure created a lot of noise with his statement "DJs Killed Hip Hop". I have had discussions with promoters, music lovers & other DJs about this topic. One thing people fail to realize is that a DJ has to want to break records. A lot of DJs are just content playing there Top 40 hit list week after week and month after month. I agree that if a DJ is not breaking records, he is not doing his job. Especially if that DJ has a following and can create a hit by playing a joint nobody knows. Some people get into DJing for various reasons - whether it be the love of music, money, sex, or fame! From Kid Capri to DJ Drama, Starting From Scratch to Jazzy Jeff, or Clinton Sparks to yours truly... we all thrive off of new music. DJs not only have the power to break a hit, but also make the hits - the rest will follow! I am that DJ.

Diddy had recently said that "DJs killed Hip Hop". Here is his response to "the DJ". Passion for music is real! Here's my take:

Let me say this... DJs didn't kill hip hop. Especially in Toronto.. As a DJ, if u are not playing new music and breaking records YOU ARE WACK! What ruined the life of a record is people relying on the mass media to dictate whether a record is a hit (i.e. BET, MTV, Much Music, etc.). Nowadays, DJs are searching for that next hit to say they broke it or played it first! Maybe some DJs don't take the risk in breaking a new record - but don't categorize us all the same way. I had the convo with many DJs - the "digital" game (Serato) can do 1 of two things... It makes a DJ even more creative & passionate or it makes them super lazy! Everyday is like Christmas to me... sometimes u get that record that blows you away. That would be like the "super gift"... that toy u wanted when u were a kid. Some tracks are like getting socks & underwear - just ordinary. Nothing exciting!

Basically... Don't blame all DJs! Those DJs who aren't willing to expand know who they are!

Yahoo! Music Canada BUZZ Artist - none other than my homegirl.. TRISH!

Remember this... I support who I see something in. Trish is definitely one of those artists! Her sassy, sexy style makes her a trendsetter. DJs!!!!!!!!!!! If u haven't received the record, "JESTER presents TRISH "DON'T WATCH ME (feat. J.Diggz & Oh)". Check download links below!

Toronto, ON -- February 3, 2009 -- Media powerhouse Yahoo! Music Canada features brand new video "Don't Watch Me" from up and coming singing sensation Trish.

Matching the tone of the song, the edgy video was directed by Lil' X and features hip-hop artist J Diggz and singer Oh! "When (I first heard) Trish's music all I could say is 'Who is this girl?' Her style & swagger is fierce! I heard about 15 joints and all of them were bangers. The cool of a T-Boz and the sassiness of Aaliyah are all wrapped into one. Trish has her own style and its like no other." says award winning Smash Squad DJ Jester, the music arbiter who officially presented the single. Like many of her listeners, he didn't need a second listen to jump on board with her career.

Trish describes the video as "very suiting to who I am" - combining multiple elements and genres to result in an alluring product. With every view, Trish gains a new impressed fan of her innovative and refreshing star quality.

She looks forward to a year of live performances and interacting with fans across her growing tour schedule.

More of her music and concert footage are at:

Trish is the epitome of a triple threat, earning the right to reach for the sky and fly with the stars. Perhaps it's the relentless depth of her passion or the intoxicating quality of her voice, but the dance-driven, electro-pop infused entertainer has an undeniable star power. Earning the coveted title as the "next big thing", her music intertwines the elements of electrifying R&B and captivating funk with an edgy hip-hop feel.
